2012 Hyundai Veloster

Inspired by the two-door Veloster concept car from the 2007 Seoul auto show, the production-ready Veloster coupe packs attractive exterior body style with slopping roof-line and short front and rear overhangs. In the view of the car’s full length the Veloster’s exaggerated wheel arch is shown. Unlike the concept, it appears to taper off into the sidesill. The car still maintains a steeply-raked windshield, cresting at the intersection with the roof, which then slants downwards in less dramatic fashion than the concept.
Hyundai Motor America’s acting CEO, John Krafcik, said that the new coupe will be a cheaper, fuel efficient, stylish sibling to the more overtly performance-oriented Genesis coupe. We expect the production car to feature a 140 horsepower 1.6-liter 4 cylinder engine capable of something just north of 40 mpg for the standard powerplant – with the possibility for either a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine as a premium offering.
